I'm back!

Well, after a long time away from the camera.. I'm back!  Well, at least I think I am.... After getting extremely sick during my pregnancy early last year, I had to put the camera down for quite a while.  I canceled about 10 shoots that I had already scheduled, because I wasn't even sure I could get out of bed - let alone chase a kid around with my camera!  And it killed me 'cause I had already planned special things for so many of the shoots!

Then in July, we made the move from Athens, Georgia to Castle Rock, Colorado.  From green hills to rocky mountains, it was quite a change.   From a place where I had been doing shoots for about three years (and had somewhat established myself) to a place where, if I decided to pursue photography, I would have to build my business from absolutely nothing.. again!

Besides a couple little shoots for friends along the way, and then of course taking mandatory pics of my kids, I pretty much dropped my photography business altogether.  Even after Brooklynn turned two months, I still had no desire to take any pictures.. and I wondered if I would ever go back to photography at all.

But then spring came.. my sickness was gone, and I was adjusting to the stress of having two kids under the age of two!   I think it was April when I told my husband, Jason, "I think I wanna just go outside and take some pictures today!"   I felt like I was getting the urge to shoot again and so I've finally decided to try and pursue part time child/family photography again.  I have to say it's gonna be hard starting again from scratch like this, but as long as I have the desire to shoot, I'm going to try and capture those beautiful moments that, hopefully, we make ya'll smile!

NOTE: And actually taking pictures of these gorgeous full-of-life kids that I've had the privilege of photographing these past three weeks.. well it's making me smile again too!  My goal is to make a post of each shoot, so ya'll can see how much fun I'm having already! :)
